If only Chicago were closer to Glasgow
Moving those two closer would make meeting my future Scottish husband SO MUCH EASIER. Why so difficult, gents?
Pasta is a good skint nom.
Pasta! I have an unhealthy sort of love for egg noodles with garlic and olive oil; I can eat a huge heaping bowl for a meal and be satisified, and it’s generally pretty cheap.
Stuck in an elevator with David Cook
I could handle being stuck in an elevator with Mr. David Cook. He could sing along with whatever Muzak was playing. Or we could just make out. You know.. whatever.
listening to "One Day Like This - Elbow"
One of those songs that makes some mornings a little easier to survive.
A Monster at the End of this Book. A classic.
This book was a big-time favorite when I was wee. My mom used to read it to me, and she’d really get into character, and I was usually in tears of laughter by the end. Good times.
Zombies Ahead! Use Caution!
Okay, so, I’ve actually given this some thought (shut up), and I’ve come to the conclusion that when the zombies come? I will die. It’s that simple. I’ll totally be one of the first victims, and then I’ll spend the entire zombie-times stumbling around trying to kill my friends and neighbors.
I think it’s a solid plan.
The Mysterious Explorations of Jasper Morello - “Nominated for an Oscar and for a BAFTA award, Jasper Morello is a short feature made in a unique style of silhouette animation developed by director Anthony Lucas and inspired by the work of authors Edgar Alan Poe and Jules Verne.
“Set in a world of iron dirigibles and steam powered computers, this gothic horror mystery tells the story of Jasper Morello, a disgraced aerial navigator who flees his Plague-ridden home on a desperate voyage to redeem himself.”
The animation in this piece is extraordinary and beautiful to be sure, but the best part, IMO, is the story. It truly is like something from another era, gorgeous and tragic, with an obvious and inescapable end.
‘Good Omens’ will make you LOL
This book is absurd and delightful (as much as a book about the Apocalypse can be) and very very English. I treasure it, and it certainly made me chortle uncomfortably loud.
I want to grow old in Scotland
I have a deep affection for the Scots, and I enjoy listening to a Scottish accent. Plus, the country itself is kind of desperately beautiful, and Edinburgh is a city with amazing history and culture.
listening to "Passing Afternoon" - Iron & Wine
The sun is shining and the temperature is teasing at spring — a good day for mellow I&W.
